7. Web analytics

To find out how often this website is visited, we count page views with our own counter. The counter runs on our own server. No third-party service is involved, and no data is passed to third parties.

We record the page that was opened, the website it was opened from, whether the visit came from a phone, a tablet or a computer, and how long the page took to load. No cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device. Your IP address is not stored. To tell one visitor from two, the counter derives a short code from your IP address, your browser identification and a random value. That random value is replaced daily; after that, codes from one day can no longer be connected to those of the next.

Of the referring source, only the domain is stored, never the full address. Anyone who has set “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control in their browser is not counted.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in understanding how our website is used and improving it accordingly.
